Subject content Fibre identification methods (conventional and advanced, their comparison and accuracy). Microscopy (light, electron, nuclear). Various types of microscopes and peculiarities of their applications (TLM, RLM, IRM, PM, SEM, TEM, CLM, AFM). Microphotometry and micromorphometry with the assistance of sophisticated systems for digital image analysis. Instrumental methods and their application in the identification of fibre structure and property (NMR, FTIR, NIR, WAX, SAX, TGA, TMA, DTA, DSC, GC, TLC, HPLC, US, EF). During laboratory exercises, acquired theoretical knowledge will be applied through individual experimental work on fibre identification.
Aim of course Through this acquired knowledge, both theoretical and practical, students will be able to perform fibre identification, independently and precisely.
