Subject content Chemical and phisical properties of water. Classification of waters. Ingredients in natural waters. Hardness of waters. Gases in waters. Characterisation of waters. Environmental pollution and waters. Water quality standards and parameters. Source and characteristics of industrial wastewaters. Water treatment processes (mahanical, biological, chemical). Wastewaters treatment plants. Softening of water. Ion exchangers in water treatment processes. Membrane technique. Sludge handling and disposal. Problems of corrosion. Water treatment for textile purpose. Characterisation of textile wastewaters. Textile wastewater treatment processes. Chemical oxidation of textile wastewaters. Reuse and recycling of textile water and wastewaters.
Aim of course Students will get the theoretical and practical knowledge about process water and wastewater treatmants, especially textile waters and wastewaters and will gain knowledge and skills for work in the laboratory for analysis of water, textile process control laboratories and in laboratories for controling and leading the processes of purification of textile wastewaters.
