Subject content Workplace and methods of work. The system man-machine-environment. Static and dynamic anthropometry. Anthropometric data and measurement techniques. Standard statistic anthropometric data. Percentiles. Technological and technical workplace design. Ergonomic workplace design (anthropometric, psychological, environmental and physiological). Methods and techniques of workplace design and methods of work. Areas of reach. Vertical and horizontal fields of vision. Assessment of workplace design analysis. Constructing a designed workplace. Sitting and standing work posture. Data processing systems in workplace design. Working environment and its impact. Workplace load. Ergonomic coefficient. Optimal work at a designed workplace.
Aim of course Mastering the above topics, students will be able, employing a scientific method, define appropriately designed workplace in the system of man-machine-environment. It also defines the optimal method of work, considerably reducing the necessary workload and the danger of professional diseases, characteristic for highly repetitive jobs. The contents of the subject are the basis for manufacturing process designing activities, as well as for production management and organisation. The knowledge acquired will also be used in designing workplaces for physically disabled persons, as well as for functional interior decoration.
