A visit to a dry cleaning shop that has the most up-to-date technology for removing dirt, cleaning and ironing.
OUTCOMES
The student will be able to:
• to design collections of garments with high maintenance durability
• analyze and improve process parameters that have an impact on the usability of textiles and clothing in maintenance
• integrate functional elements into textiles and clothing, harmonize the compatibility of materials from the aspect of care
• optimize appropriate maintenance procedures
• analyze and improve process parameters
• analyze existing processes and propose improvements in accordance with innovations in the field of clothing care
THE AIM
Students will learn about textile and clothing care processes through the analysis of the functional properties of textiles in washing and professional care. In doing so, special attention will be paid to the influence of individual detergent components on changes in properties: shade and feel. They will gain knowledge about the process of maintaining clothes with effective threads, applications and built-in elements of leather and fur, which are often a challenge and inspiration for designers. They will learn about clothing damage in textile care and complaints. Students will be shown the possibility of achieving the functional properties of textiles in care processes.
