Learning outcomes:
The student will be able to:
● recognize changes in contemporary fashion;
● analyze today's fashion;
● develop a critical attitude based on research and scientific literature;
● present their own research work;
● lead discussions;
● reconstruct fashion events that are caused by social changes;
Subject content
Critical and theoretically applied analysis of contemporary fashion and its context; investigation of the legality of contemporary fashion; investigation, understanding and critical attitude towards contemporary fashion; meanings in contemporary fashion under symbolic and cultural aspects.
Aim of course
In thematic units, the students express their own opinions, which they support with literature. In the introduction, the professor points out the topic - the students have the task of researching the topic, presenting it to their classmates and opening the discussion. All students should be familiar with the topic of the discussion, the professor is the coordinator of the discussion.
The goal of the course is to familiarize students with contemporary trends in fashion design, emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of the academic discipline and contemporary fashion as a social process of political, economic and global change.
