Subject content:

The role of statistics in scientific research. Using a computer program for statistical analysis and organizing data. Descriptive statistics using graphical and numerical presentation of data in a computer program for statistical analysis. Basic concepts of probability and random variables. Stating statistical hypotheses and testing them using p-values in a computer program for statistical analysis. Parametric model selection and data adjustment. Goodness of fit tests. Type I and type II errors. Regression and correlation analysis. Statistical tests for comparing sample expectations with some reference value. Two sample t-test for means, paired two sample t-test for means and two sample F-test for variances. One-way ANOVA. Tests for homogeneity of variances. Post hoc tests. Two-way ANOVA. Application of statistical quality control in textile science. Non-parametric tests for comparing expectations and variances.

Aim of course:

Educate participants to correctly choose and use a computer program to implement a statistical method for the analysis of data obtained through scientific research, and based on this, make the correct conclusion.
