The main goals of the project:
- Establish an interdisciplinary research group to explore fabric manufacturing and targeted antimicrobial fabric treatment for use in a hospital setting with emphasis on longevity of care, environmental friendliness, and reduced textile dust, including a new PhD student with a topic appropriate to the project content.
- Establishment of the Laboratory for Controlled Monitoring Cross Linking Process, with the purchase of new equipment (FTIR Golden Gate, Drop Shape Analyzer, Moisture Management Tester).
- Scientific objectives that include the production of fabrics with reduced textile dust generation, research on optimal cationization conditions and antimicrobial treatment with emphasis on stable properties and minimal material damage, optimization and formulation of care processes, toxicological testing of antimicrobial textiles and a new project application in the last project year.
