Subject content

Raw materials and routes for spinning unconventional yarns. Unconventional spinning methods: rotor, aerodynamic, friction, self-twist, cover and electrostatic spinning. Properties of unconventional yarns. New development trends in spinning. Quality of unconventional yarns and comparison with ring-spun yarn.

Aim of course

The aim of the course is to familiarize with raw materials and routes of spinning unconventional yarns from cotton, wool and staple man-made fibres and blends of natural and man-made fibres. Special attention is paid to rotor, aerodynamic, friction and cover spinning. Basic finishing treatments of yarns, technological parameters providing the production of high-grade unconventional yarns.
