Subject content

The concept of aesthetics (historical sources, determinations, types of aesthetics, contemporary aesthetics ); Beauty, ugly, sublime, kitsch; aesthetical canons, history and changes in the conteporary world; Aesthetical approach (perception, ideas, expression); The history of arts - styles, beauty, modern and contemporary art and the concept of beauty; Mimesis, representation, creation; Theory of spiritual production (intuitiuon, fantasy, expression...); Aestehtics of human figure; The art and design; Modern design; Fashion aesthetics; Art, design, technologies, media, multimedial projects, installationsa, performances; Aesthetics and postmodernism; Image and simulacra; The end of aesthetics.

Aim of course

The course examines reconsiderataion of aesthetics, aesthetical theories and canons to artistr and designer. Aesthetical theories and the concept of beauty have the own history from ancient greek philosophers through modern theoreticians of aesthetics to contemporary aesthetical theories. Fashion designer as the creative subject of modern enterprise has opportunity to know how the beauty and artistic beauty are connected in the historical articulation of aesthetical discussions and problems. Specific goal of this topic is consideration of art and fashion design and investigation the aesthetics of human figure, dressing and fashion.
