Erasmus +

Erasmus+ is an EU program for traineeship, education, sports and youth in the period of 2014 to 2020.

The main objective of the program is to raise the general level of skills in order to increase employment opportunities, as well as to modernize education and work with young people. The budget foreseen for the seven-year period amounts to € 14.7 billion, which is a 40% increase in the budget that has so far resolved these issues in the EU.

Erasmus+ is an integrated program that links the seven existing EU programs in the field of education, training and sports, providing greater opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, training, youth and sports. It is easier to be accessed and there are simplified funding rules. Thanks to the Erasmus+ program, there has been an opportunity for 4 million Europeans to study, practice, gain work experience and volunteer in foreign destinations.

Erasmus+ provides individual scholarships, but also supports international partnerships between training, education and youth institutions, with the aim to foster cooperation and to bridge the gap between the educational sector and the labor market.

Furthermore, it supports national programs, which focuse on the modernization of education, training as well as youth work. Sports activities including cross-border programs focused on repression of illegal fights as well as fights, violence, doping and racism, are also supported.
