Laboratory for thermophysiological comfort of footwear
In the laboratory for thermophysiological comfort of footwear, the thermal resistance of footwear and socks (Rct) is measured as an important parameter of thermophysiological comfort of footwear.
The thermal resistance of footwear is a quantitative assessment of the thermal insulation of a subject wearing certain footwear (and socks).
The laboratory is equipped with a device called Thermal foot, manufactured by UCS d.o.o., Slovenia (unit of measurement). The control unit was developed at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile Technology. The thermal foot, EU size 42, height 270 mm, is divided into 13 segments that can be heated independently by simulating the temperature of a human foot.
