Subject content

Preparation for cutting, spreading of cutting layers. Types of spreadnig of cutting layers. Types of cutting layers. Methods and machines for spreading cutting layers. Hand spreading of cutting layers. Mechanized spreading of cutting layers. Semi-automatic spreading of cutting layers. Automatic spreading of cutting layers. Positioning of cutting patterns onto cutting layers. Cutting of layers. Hand-operated cutting machines using steel knife edges. Electric or pneumatic scissors. Circular knife cutting machines. Band knife cutting machines. Pinion type cutters. Computer-controlled units. Oscillating straight knife units. Rotating disc units. Laser beam units. Supersonic water jet unit. Ultrasonic units.

Aim of course

The course enables the students to master technological characteristics and all types of sewing machinery in the technological processes of garment cutting.
