Application:

Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) provides elemental and chemical analysis of samples from a wide range of applications in technical and natural sciences inside the SEM. The detector is controlled by AZtec software, which is a new and revolutionary materials characterization system that gathers accurate data at the micro- and nanoscales.

Technical characteristics:

  • Silicon drift detector – SDD
  • LN2 free (cooling)
  • Sensor active area 150 mm2
  • Mn Kα resolution 127 eV at 50 000 cps
  • Detection from beryllium (Be) to californium (Cf)
  • Using the AZtec software platform for automatic acquisition of microscopic images and spectrometric data.
