Subject content

Introduction, development and terms of textile finishing and dyeing processes. Methods of wet finishing. Preparatory processes, singeing, desizing, scouring, chemical and optical bleaching, mercerization. Finishing of textiles for better aesthetic and functional properties. Coating. Mechanical finishing. Fundamentals of days and dyeing processes. Classification of dyes, according chemical constitution and application. Colour Index (C.I.), colour and its measurements.
