Subject content
Characteristics of comercial dyestuff. Structure and classification of dyestuff. Theory of dyeing basics. Process variables. Dyeing and chemical characteristics of cellulose fibres. Selection of dyestuff and processes; direct, vat, reactive dyestuff (mechanism of binding, stability of dyestuff-fibre bonds), sulphur, dyestuff wich synthesises on fibre. Dyeing and chemical characteristics of protein fibres (wool, silk). Selection of processes and dyestuff (acid, metal-complex, basic). Dyeing and chemical characteristics of synthetic fibres, selection of dyestuff. PA dyeing, industrial processes. PAN dyeing . PES and PP dyeing (physical and chemical characteristics). Industrial processes. Mixture of fibres dyeing.
Aim of course
As a mandatory course, Textile Dyeing introduces students to basic characteristics of comercial dyestuff, structure and use. It includes acquiring knowledge of dyeing and chemical properties of natural and synthetic fibres through laboratory practice which gives an oportunity of getting acquinted with new dyeing tecniques.
