Subject content

Application of chemical methods in textile material restauration and conservation. Analytical methods. Classical analysis. Basic principals of instrumental methods (chromatography, electrochemistry and spectrochemical methods). Non destructive methods. Sampling. Preparation of the sample for analysis. Methods of digestion. Choosing the appropriate analytical method based on the quantity of analyte present in the sample. Result interpretation. Statistical evaluation of analytical results. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of binding media, dyes, pigments, metals and fillers in the textile material restauration and conservation.

Aim of course

Introduction to the necessary non destructive and destructive analytical methods in textile materials restauration and conservation. Choosing the appropriate analytical method based on the type of the sample and the quantity of present analyte. Basic informations of new developments on the textile restauration scientific field.
