Subject content

Study of methods of 2D and 3D garment construction and mathematical models of pattern transformations. Investigation of parameters of contemporary CAD/CAM systems by developing computer-based 3D garment models from the stage of 2D design of textiles and clothing, complete pattern development, model simulation and visualization, to the manufacturing process itself. Investigation of the influence of anthropometric body characteristics on the development process of the computer prototype of a garment model. Study of implementation models of computer-based 3D body shape as a result of 3D body scanning in the CAD system for the development of a model prototype. Development of the bases of computer-based 3D body models for different garment size systems. Research and development of parametric garment models as the starting point for computer adaptation of patterns to different body types. Investigation of the impact of using complex 2D/3D CAD systems on the business of garment manufacturers in terms of global business.

Aim of course

To introduce students into the field of research and development of 3D CAD system for computer garment construction and simulation as one of the development directions of modern garment engineering. To train students to research simulation parameters of computer-based 3D models of articles of clothing and to find their correlations. To lay the foundations of researching the impacts of anthropologic body characteristics on garment construction. To educate students in such a way that they are capable of scientific work in the field of developing parametric garment models within the framework of developing a garment model for the adaptation to individual anthropometric body characteristics. To educate students in such a way that they are capable of researching and developing computer-based 3D garment models in terms of computer graphics.
