Subject content

Basics of photochromism, Phenomenons of reversible colur change. Physico-chemical and spectral properties of photochromic, thermochromic, solvatochromic, ionochromic, electrochromic and other dyes and mechanism systems. Selection of analytical methods of testing multifunctionality. Selection and modification of application methods according to substrate. Statistical testing of "colour at the right time" concept . Causes and analysis of degradation products, with emphasis on application type. Passive, textile sensors through application of multifunctional dyes. Basics of pattern design for passive textiles. Classification of sensors based on application area (medical textiles, childrens' clothing, military clothing etc.).

Aim of course

Production of textiles in the future should be aimed towards specialty and multifunctional products of highly added value. Production process of the future should be sustainable and eco-friendly, while at the same time being technologically innovative. One possibility of achieving set goals is through use of multifunctional dyes, which defined by their chemical constitution may be used in a wide variety of applications (medical textiles, childrens' clothing, military camouflage uniforms...).
